As part of the university’s Fall Family Weekend festivities, the Virginia Tech Police Department hosted its fifth annual Community Day celebration on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students, employees, and the general public were invited to attend to learn more about the award winning and national accredited police department.

The free event, which took place on Virginia Tech's Drillfield, included activities for people of all ages including drunk goggle carts to simulate driving under the influence, a donut eating contest, two obstacle courses, "Dunk-A-Cop," and blood donations.

Participants also had the opportunity to view demonstrations from Virginia Tech's Emergency Response Team, K-9 Team, and Rescue Squad; the Blacksburg Fire and Police departments; the Montgomery County Sherriff's Office; Christiansburg Police; and the Carillion Lifeguard helicopter crew.
