Special Olympics Fundraiser

Each spring, the Virginia Tech Police Department hosts a hot dog luncheon that benefits Special Olympics Virginia.

On average, the luncheon raises about $3,000 for Special Olympics Virginia events such as the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which the Virginia Tech and Blacksburg Police Departments participate in each year.

2018 Hot Dog Luncheon

This year’s luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at the Public Safety Building from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will raise money from sales of hot dog meals, candy bars, desserts and Special Olympics hats and t-shirts.

Local businesses sponsor the event each year and donated the foods and supplies needed to make the meals.
