Rape Aggression Defense System (R.A.D. for Women)

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) System is a program offered to female students and employees at Virginia Tech.

The four-part course begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, and progresses to the basics of hands-on defense training. Participants learn self-defense tactics and techniques.

The free course is taught by Virginia Tech Police Department officers and is offered several times a year.

Upcoming Sessions

 

VTPD will host two RAD sessions in Fall 2020:

  • Session I- Tuesdays 6-9 pm -- NOW FULL
    • Sept. 29, Oct. 6, Oct. 13
  • Session II- Wednesdays 2-5pm
    • Oct. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 11
