Drug Take-Back Program
“Approximately 46,000 Americans die each year from drug-related deaths and four out of five new heroin users starting with prescription medications,” according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Virginia Tech Police Department has established a Drug Take-Back program to collect unwanted drugs (including prescription medications) from Virginia Tech students, employees, community members and nonaffiliated individuals.
The program provides a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications and illegal drugs.
- Visit the Virginia Tech Security Center at 330 Sterrett Drive, Blacksburg, VA 24061.
- The service is offered between 9am and 5pm.
- All drop offs are anonymous and individuals will not be asked for any personal information.
For more information about the program call 540-231-6411.
