Special Olympics Fundraiser
Each spring, the Virginia Tech Police Department hosts a hot dog luncheon that benefits Special Olympics Virginia.
On average, the luncheon raises over $6,000 for Special Olympics Virginia events such as the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which the Virginia Tech Police Department participates in each year.
The event raises money from sales of hot dog meals, candy bars, desserts and Special Olympics hats and t-shirts.
Local businesses sponsor the event each year and donated the foods and supplies needed to make the meals.
